I don't recommend this book to children or teens due to the violence in this book. The story tells a story of a boy named Ponyboy, who is part of the "greaser" social class. Ponyboy forms a family-like bond between the other greasers in his community. The battle between the greasers and the "Soc's" (the preppy group) takes some very bad turns, resulting in multiple tragedies. I enjoyed this book from start to finish because the story is so compelling.
